RTPBD 2016
Final Public Workshop from LeanBigData and CoherentPaaS
June 9, 2016, Heraklion, Greece
Important Dates
- April 17, 2016: Full paper submission
- May 2, 2016: Notification to authors
- June 9, 2016: RTPBD in Heraklion
Scope
The advent of many new paradigms to manage data such as NoSQL, NewSQL, CEP and its co-existence with former paradigms such as OLTP and OLAP SQL databases has resulted in a new technological landscape that has been termed Polyglot Persistence. The traditional tags for databases or data stores have been rendered obsolete since new data management technologies emerge with a combination of traditional and new capabilities that are transforming the database world. The new technologies have brought new data models and query languages more appropriate for certain kinds of problems such as key-value data stores, document data stores, and graph databases. In this context developers must deal with this data diversity in order to get insights and knowledge from the different data stores. Moreover, guaranteeing consistency across data stores has become a major issue due to the polyglot persistence trend.
This workshop is organized by two EU projects: CoherentPaaS and LeanBigData targeting the integration of Polyglot Persistence & blending the OLTP and OLAP worlds, respectively. The goal of the workshop is to present the projects main results.
